Habeeb Ahmad, M.D.
Dr. Ahmad was born in Michigan and grew up in New York City. He graduated from the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education/City University Medical School with a BS and MD in Biomedical Science and Psychology. He then received his Clinical Medical Education from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. He completed his residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center where he was the Chief Resident in 2008-2009. He then went on to complete a cornea fellowship at Doheney Eye Institute at USC.
He has earned several accomplishments and awards including lecturer at Doheney Refractive CME Conference. He was also the lead author for a poster at the World Cornea Conference VI titled “New Y- Suture Technique to Reduce Detachments in Descemet-Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSAEK)”.
Dr. Ahmad entered the field of Ophthalmology as he says “…to cure the world’s leading cause of blindness (cataracts), be involved in both medical and surgical care of all patients, young and old, and to be able to help people save their sight.”
Dr. Ahamd is married with two children. He enjoys hiking and playing basketball. His favorite food is pumpkin pie.
